About the project

The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) with support of United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) and Global Environment Facility (GEF) is implementing the “The Enhanced Regulatory and Information Management Systems for Integrated Implementation of Multilateral Environment Agreements”.  The main objective of the project is to enhance the Country’s abilities to address global environmental issues related to land degradation, climate change, biodiversity conservation and chemical management through effective, coordinated and integrated implementation of respective multi-lateral environmental agreements. Specifically the project aims to enhance efficiencies and effectiveness in meeting the obligations and requirements of closely related MEAs through the development and implementation of integrated multi-convention information and reporting system.
