INVITATION FOR PUBLIC COMMENTS
Pursuant to legal notice No. 160 of the Environmental Management and Coordination (Conservation of Biological Diversity and Resources, Access to Genetic Resources and Benefit Sharing) Regulations, 2006 the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) has received application for access permit for the following
DR. CARIE ANN CIZAUSKAS DEPARTMENT OF ECOLOGY AND EVOLUTIONARY BIOLOGY 106 A GUYOT HALL, PRINCETON, NJ 08544 USA Activity: Collection of fecal samples from Olive baboon (Papio anibis) and Velvet Monkey (Cercopithecus aethiops) from Mpala Research Centre in Nanyuki, Kenya. The samples will be exported for further parasite and bacterial DNA analysis, hormone measurement and immune factor measure at Princeton University, Princeton, NJ, USA.
NICOLE ALINE THOMPSON DEPARTMENT OF ECOLOGY, EVOLUTION, AND ENVIRONMENTAL BIOLOGY, COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY, NEW YORK, NY 10027 Activity: Collection of fecal and urine sample from Cercopithecus mitis in Kakamega Forest. The sample will be exported for further analysis on metabolites at Columbia University.
